Buckwheat honey is higher in anti-oxidants than some other honeys and has been used for centuries to help soothe a sore throat or a cough. Buckwheat honey has a robust, full-bodied flavor and is dark amber in color. This honey is made by the gathered nectar from the small white flowers on the Buckwheat grain. Buckwheat honey is a great choice for baking bread and provides a wonderful contrast for your taste buds when drizzled on fresh fruit.

    unique to say the least

This honey is strange but in a good way. It has a prominent earthy and perhaps wild taste to it. If honey could be gamey, this is it. It's very dark and rich in nutrients and extremely rich in flavor. Words to describe it are as such: earthy, musty, wholesome, not-particularly-floral-tasting but with a redeeming character of caramel or something similar. I used a 3:1 ratio of OJ blossom and buckwheat honey for a mead and the color is a brilliant amber and the taste is completely unique. This honey is powerful and the taste is definitely good, just different. Try it! It's hard to believe it's honey.
